How Lazuar chooses what to build next

We don’t chase every industry request. Here’s the simple filter we use before shipping a purpose-built product.

Lazuar is a product studio, not a custom software shop. That means we say no often — and ship harder when we say yes.

The job has to be clear

We start with a job someone already does every week, not a vague “digital transformation” wish.

  • Shop owners already take bookings on chat.
  • Students already hunt for SPM trial and past-year papers.
  • If we can’t name the job in one sentence, we don’t build yet.

Clear jobs become products people open without a sales deck.

The pain has to be structural

Annoying UI is not enough. We look for structure problems:

  • Money and confirmation live in different places (classic booking chaos).
  • Content is scattered across drives, chats, and random PDFs.
  • Tools optimise for everyone a little — and for no one fully.

If a spreadsheet plus discipline already solves it, we stay away.

We need a path to a live product

Purpose-built does not mean forever in private beta.

Before we commit, we ask:

  1. Can someone use a real URL within a reasonable build?
  2. Is there a simple pricing or free motion that matches the audience?
  3. Can we support it without inventing a full enterprise suite on day one?

TempahHQ, BalasAuto, and SPMDrill all passed that bar: live products, clear audiences, clear jobs.

Multi-tenant from day one

We build products, not one-off projects. Shared architecture matters because:

  • the second customer should not require a rewrite
  • the tenth customer should not require a heroics sprint
  • the parent brand stays a portfolio, not a pile of bespoke code

That’s why Lazuar exists as a hub: one studio, multiple products, same standard.

What we won’t build (for now)

  • Generic CRMs that try to be everything
  • “AI wrappers” with no operational workflow
  • Clone-of-an-existing-global-app with no local job advantage

If your industry has a sharp, painful job and the tools today are still chat + spreadsheets, tell us. We may not build it tomorrow — but we listen for patterns.
